Rules, Disclaimer, Ethics, FYI's etc.

Thu Feb 9, 2012, 12:48 PM
Below follows a rather long list of stuff that I highly recommend you read before you comment, download and use any of my work.

Technical and ethical information can also be found here.

Disclaimer regarding content in photography and artwork in general

I do not directly wish to promote any form of religious, racial, sexual or political ideology with my work. My art is reflective upon the concept I choose in my mind's eye, with or without my personal ideals and opinions. Whether these concepts are inspired or categorized as negative, sad, evil etc. they are still a product of creativity and imagination, and are to be viewed as such.

All images are more or less experiments, and are to be viewed as such. I do not claim any of my artworks to be 100% completely finished in any way, they are always open to criticism and editing. Although I should note that I prefer expressive photographs that may not be 100% technically superior over the contrary as they feel more "natural".

Also keep in mind that as everyone evolve in a field of interest, older images may appear to be of inferior quality to the newer ones.

Regarding comments, criticism and similar stuff.

I do not generally thank people for adding any of my works to their favorites, don't get the impression that I'm not grateful for it, I am quite the contrary. I always see it quite positive that my artworks receive such acknowledgement.

Regarding my own comments, while some may sound harsh and negative, they too are on the contrary. I give as constructive criticism I can, and this is for you to evolve as an artist, there is nothing negative about it. If anyone should feel offended by my remarks, I do apologize for it is not my intention to do so.

Oh yes, kindly keep your own comments that fall under similarities with these below to yourself:

:bulletred:Any form of propaganda, whether it is political, sexual or religious. I do not look too kindly onto this... This is nary the ideal place for ideological debates. I restrain my own values here on that which I do not stand for, and so should you. It's called common courtesy.

:bulletred:Vulgar, generally mindless and unsuitable remarks. E.G. "Dat ass", "Nice tits" if the photograph has a model as motive. It's just silly and unrelated.

:bulletred:All forms of blatant verbal abuse against me or anyone in general. At least try to keep a civil tongue.

Technical and ethical information regarding all photographic submissions

All photographs follow these technical specifications:

:bulletgreen:72dpi (Prints will only be available per request)
:bulletgreen:sRGB colorspace. Individual monitor contrast and tones may vary, take this into thought before commenting about contrast and colors.
:bulletgreen:Mostly 15% size of the original RAW file (Aside from stock-images), sometimes smaller and sometimes larger depending on the picture.
:bulletgreen:They are always shot in .NEF, or any other similar camera RAW format.
:bulletgreen:Post-editing is made with Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5

All photographs follow these ethical principles:

:bulletgreen:All photographs that are not placed into my "Photomanipulation" folder is pretty much 100% as shot in terms of content. I value the natural exterior of humans and the realism of objects in my photography. I am not like those who do fashion photography...
:bulletgreen:All photographs depicting humans are uploaded with their permission and credited with a link if they have a DA account. Do look at their own works too.

Guide for use of submitted content that is not stock-art

Uploaded content with the ability to download the image is free for personal usage. Images that do not have said ability to download via DA's download function, is not allowed to be used. This applies mainly to portraits and any other form of photography where a person is the main focus. Respect the privacy of the model!

Definition of personal use: "A type of property that an individual does not use for business purposes or hold as an investment. In other words, property that an individual owns for personal enjoyment."

Content that have the ability to download is to follow these simple rules below

Unless otherwise specified, any of my art that does not fall under the category of stock-art may not be:

:bulletred:Redistributed without the explicit permission from me personally (PM me if you wish to do so)
:bulletred:Manipulated or altered in any way unless it is solely for private use (Wallpapers and etc.)

Photomanipulations are not solely subjects to my own terms of use, but also the creators of the stock art that I've used.
Were you to use these, you will also have to contact the original creators of the stocks used and ask about their rules.

And of course, and foremost: Do not steal my own, or any other artist's work for your own profit!
I keep my axe sharp and polished for those that dare to do so...

Stock image rules

:bulletgreen: You may use my stock art for your photomanipulations or post-process photographic work, as long you comment on the specific stock image with a link to your finished work, or send me a PM about it.

:bulletred: You may not distribute any of my stocks outside of DA unless a written permission is obtained from me personally.

:bulletred: You may not use my stocks without properly crediting me on the submitted image by adding a link to the image used and my profile in the description.

Example Stock image: :icongrall19: [link]

:bulletred:You may not use any of my stocks for commercial or general economically profitable purpose.

:bulletred:You may not post your finished work outside of DA without a written permission from me.

I am extremely boring verbally and have a tendency to sound very negative in written form. Take heed of this.

My main practical interests lay towards art, music and crafts. I've been working with Photoshop since late 2006, first for texturing stuff for Valve's Source engine, and now more directed towards photomanipulations and photographic post-processing. But as most people, I also have an academic side to stimulate. This consisting mostly of religion of various kinds, symbolism, archaeology, and history in general.

I've played stringed instruments for a few years now (Guitar, Swedish 12-string lute, bass), done some doodling with traditional shaman drums and got two musical projects currently going, which has yet to produce anything that I would deem finished. The only sad thing about this is that I have a tremendous amount of ideas that I cannot make reality because of economical issues (instruments do not come cheap).

My taste for photography and art in general lies more towards the darker kind. I feel that "happy" images are much too distant for my tastes and sometimes negativity is the sole resource for the contrary and darker images tend to reflect upon reality in a broader view. In a more metaphoric way, it's like transferring poison from the veins into a reservoir.

I'm a very enclosed metalhead when it comes to musical tastes. Pretty much everything I listen to is metal of some form. This being mainly black, melodeath and folk metal. Although I at certain times have an urge to bring my mind into more of a fantasy state with ambient, darkwave and traditional folk music (I love lutes and bagpipes).

To describe my own views, the only term I could possibly fit into my religious view is Germanic paganism. After many years of conceptualizing and begrudging, that is the only term I openly use to describe my religious view. But I do not, and never will, identify and/or affiliate myself with organized neo-pagan groups. I denounce theism and will never consider any form of "humanized" god(s) anything for me, I would however if i had any facts about there being a godess or goddesses since I cannot possibly imagine any man to be of divine character. I am very much against the larger scaled religions abroad (judeo-christianity and islam for instance) on an ideological level. I do not care what one choose to call "god" as long as I am treated in a generally polite and socially acceptable way without anyone forcing their own views upon me. To each his own...

I am not a very social person. I rarely spend my time with friends on weekends and such, mainly because I feel "over-exposed" to humanity after a while and prefer to stay in my home in the forest. I do, however, converse by digital means. I don't care much for traditions like Christmas, new years eve, my own birthday or anything like that. I do not like exposing myself in photographs, but I do keep my ID picture somewhat updated (the beard needs to be of recent length...obviously)

That pretty much sums it all up.

Proud beardsman since 2010
